Just a few weeks after a very talented musician, Mike Francis, passed away, another gem in the industry, Francis Magalona more popularly known as "Francis M," "The Mouth," and "The Master Rapper," succumbed to severe sepsis as a complication of his long-time battle with leukemia and passed away at 12 noon today. He was just 44 years young. His passing away is indeed a tremendous loss for the Philippine music industry.
As quoted from Inquirer.net, "the acclaimed rapper-musician was rushed to the Medical City on Thursday night, Inquirer sources said. He was “intubated” upon admission and placed in the Intensive Care Unit at 3 a.m. Friday.
Magalona was “toxic” during the early hours of Friday, the Inquirer sources further said.
Doctors still managed to administer chemotherapy on Magalona. He expired before a bone marrow transplant could be scheduled, they said.
Magalona had been undergoing several chemotherapy sessions since he was diagnosed with the
disease in August last year but was too weak to fight the infection, sources said."
Magalona was supposed to perform “Superproxy” with the Eraserheads in the band’s reunion concert, “The Final Set” at the SM Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City on Saturday.
He had been in collaboration with Eraserheads and Pupil frontman Ely Buendia for an album to be released this year, but sadly, won't be finished because of his sudden passing away.

this is so sad. his story and his pioneering legacy in pinoy music history is truly inspiring... quite spooky that you just featured the other francis in your previous post. they are indeed two extraordinary artists that have shaped my musical landscape and scope for the past, i don't know, plus or minus 20 years... if my maths are sound for that matter. bless.

i don't mind droppings of their precious gold.
RIP... MF and FM.
I still remember when you posted your awesome FrancisM Megamix last year. Then about a month later they announced he had Leukemia. Kalungkot talaga. His music showed his patriotic side and being "Makabayan" just got cooler with The Master Rapper at the helm. Rest in peace Kiko. Saludo kami sa iyo!
Thanks for reposting your mix Beat. Your tribute will echo the legacy "The Mouth" has left us, his gift to his "kababayans" and lovers of Rap Music, "...in this Kaleidoscope World".
