Drop The Funk, Drop The Bass - Extreme UKG Quick Mix Fix

UKG, more popularly known as UK Garage, is generally more connected to the evolution of house music in the UK in the mid 90s. This evolution led to the term, as previously coined by the Paradise Garage DJs, being applied to a new form of music also known as speed garage. It is usually combined with other forms like rap, hiphop and R&B. It could also be described as a distant cousin of Drum N' Bass, except for the generally slower beat and more into the 2-step. DJs in the UK started to speed up garage tracks to make them more suitable for the jungle audience in the UK. Also distinctive is the presence of MCs compared to Drum N' Bass, which focuses more on sped up loops and beats. 2-step is a melting pot of ideas incorporating elements from a variety of styles (mainly house, drum n' bass, R&B, and hip hop). What holds 2-step together is the basic logic of the drum patterns, which also denominated the name of this style in electronic music.
