So another week has started and it's really hard to get over those Monday blues. What's worse is hearing Bob Geldof and The Boomtown Rats' 80s song, "I Don't Like Mondays," on the radio earlier; a real bummer! :(
Anyways, to try and take away those Monday blues, I'll breakaway from retro for the meantime and fast forward to modern electronic music once more. This time, I'm introducing you to one of my favorite sub-genres of the electronic music scene called "Breaks" or "Breakbeats", which is considered as the punk rock of dance music, as marked by its dirty, aggressive and crunchy percussion and sinister guitars with an underground vibe.
In case you're a fan of CSI:Miami, you would notice that most of the background tracks being played there are somewhat of this type, as most of the clubs there play these kinds of tunes with a tinge of electro, spearheaded by Breakbeat Master and Miami resident jock, DJ Icey.
Also, if you want a good soundtrack for your workout, you might want to try this kind of music. Trust me, I've tried it, and the beats really pumped me up.
Before we go to my mix, would first like to share a classic vid from the godfather of funk and soul, James Brown, showing us how it's done. Perhaps, this is where it all started, the breakbeat influence, as this track is still being sampled by today's breaks and hip-hop DJs.

Moving on, here's today's tracklisting of some pumped up beats, some are classic rock tunes but reinvented to fit this genre:
1) Not A Test - DJ Icey
2) Beat's A Rockin - DJ Icey
3) Renegades of Funk - Rage Against The Machine (Crystal Method Remix)

my downloads doing a www: the worldwide wait. tutubuan ako ng balbas sa bagal and i can't wait to hear Jimi Hendrix et al in that mix...
why do local DJs love to play Geldof's I don't like Mondays ON a Monday? when the song meant something else as i found out a few days ago. hehehe... now i got something to post about....
also: Manic Monday din sa mas medyo baduy na stations. Forever! For life! hehehe... konti na lang, naka 39% na ung download ko. mga 2 oras na lang ito....
ok lang yan jeyb. tyaga lang. hehe. :)
di ba parang tungkol sa friend niya ata or di ko sure kung sino na nagsuicide ung song? am not sure.
will wait for your post na lang. :)
sorry for the large files guys.
had to encode it kasi @ 192 kbps bitrate para mas CD quality. medyo pangit kasi pag 128 kbps lang.
